Marathon Training! Week 7: Day 6

Significant things about this run:
I like getting a free tech shirt that I was unaware about. Thanks Elite R&W!

I’m attending more SCRRC training runs, amazing people.
This was my favorite long run I’ve ever completed.
Many distances were available; only 3 (including me) did the 16 miler.
I ran with an intern for the marathon, John, and a very inspirational lady, Julie.
I was told I have a good chance of subbing 4 hours…we’ll see.
Running with other people helps with a long run, mentally…
…and directionally. Maps and I don’t get along.

I ran without music for the first time and it felt great, freeing in a sense.
I ran negative splits for the first time, ever.
I learned about proper carbo loading, hydration, and race day fueling.
R.E.I. is very welcoming when you just need to use the bathroom.
Dunkin’ Donuts is not.
Julie and I almost ran on top of a pile of fresh vomit. Fun.
I learned about Yasso 800s. It’s good at predicting your marathon time.
Running while it’s snowing is a lot of fun.
Starbucks tastes like The Nectar of The Gods after a long run in the cold.
I like bagels, a lot…especially when they are free.
I want to eat all the things. See: marathon training problems.
SIDE NOTE: I had an interview with a local newspaper today. It went very well and the lady said I was an excellent interview. :) The article should be in the newspaper on Thursday. I’m pretty excited!
