WG Marathon Training! Week 11: Day 3
I took my new Saucony Kinvara 3s (won them in a contest) out for a spin, and my excitement completely got the best of me.

The lightweight composition of these shoes made me feel speedy, but I’m now left with a bloody ankle from the back of the shoe rubbing against my sock/skin.

Break in new shoes. Shoes break you.
That always feels wonderful, especially when you start sweating. I expected this to happen because it’s occurred in the past with new shoes. This was a hot run to say the very least. The sky was breathtaking and clear, but the bright sun was highly annoying. I felt like a turkey cooking in an oven.

All sub-marathon goal pace. I’ll take it.

That’s the same problem (and only one) I had with those shoes when I first bought them. I’m glad to know I wasn’t alone. Aside from that, I love ‘em!
