If it weren’t for someone telling me through my Facebook account, I never would’ve known that I was on television again this morning. I some how ended up being briefly featured in KLG & Hoda’s 5 year anniversary highlight video just after 5:25 minutes into the clip. What are the odds out of how many shows they have had in the past 5 years?!

Pretty cool. It definitely made me smile despite my not-so-great past few days - details to come once I have more answers. Let’s just say that I’m getting a 3rd opinion on Tuesday.

After work yesterday, I headed to L.A. fitness to run. I decided to run on the treadmill because…
A.) I’m tired of running on the snow covered sidewalks/trails because it makes me feel very unstable - knee wise.
B.) I didn’t want to worry about having to put on a bajillion things. Is it spring yet?!
C.) I just wanted to control my pace and focus on my form.
I made a very strong attempt in refusing to let myself glance down at the bright red numbers that seem to taunt my psyche at every passing moment. My curiosity got the best of me when I felt deep down inside that I had already ran well past the half way point. What did I see? 2.70

…2.70…
I wanted to scream and throw in the towel immediately!

I felt very discouraged for several minutes until I recollected myself. I wanted nothing more than to reach 4 miles, where I had already decided ahead of time that this was the point where I’d kick it up a notch. I was gradually picking up the pace already, but it still felt relatively easy - physically speaking. Time essentially froze within my mind, and it felt like it took forever and a day to reach 4 miles. And once I did, I was more than ready to be done. Every 3-4 minutes thereafter, I picked up the pace until reaching 7.2 miles per hour. I was thrilled when I finally saw that 6 (6 miles in 57:21 - pace of 9:33)! Boy oh boy…the treadmill really aids in building a person’s mental toughness. Running outside seems sooooo much easier after hitting the treadmill.

Then, I did a 4:15 minute wall sit along with plenty of stretching and a grand total of 20 minutes of IT band foam rolling - 10 in the morning and 10 after I got home.
I was also pretty geeked to finally receive my segment from the Today Show in the mail. It was the first time that I was able to watch the entire clip in high definition instead of the pixelated cut-off version that’s available online!

Dorothy from Mile-Posts sent me these pictures the other day, and it was pretty cool being able to see this segment in a different perspective. I still can’t completely wrap my head around the fact that this was on nationwide television.
